Entry timeline

Stage 1 – Nominations

The first stage of the National Mortgage Awards – Second Charge begins with the call for nominations, which is open to all intermediaries, lenders, and service providers based in the second charge sector. Submissions are made via the NMA website.

Stage 2 – Research

The research stage weeds out nominees that have been entered into the wrong categories or whose applications are not of the sufficient quality.

Stage 3 – Finalists

Once all nominations are considered, and research is complete, finalists will be selected in each category and notified via email. Finalists will also be officially announced on the event website and promoted on The Intermediary and social media. Finalists will be provided with free digital packs (social banners) to promote their achievement across the market.

Stage 4 – Judging

The judging panel will be sourced by the organising team with input from industry leaders. The panel will be made up of senior leaders from industry associations specialising in the second charge sector and senior leaders from througout the market to ensure that the industry is fairly and properly represented. However, categories will be divided up so that intermediary firms vote for lenders and vice versa to avoid conflicts of interest or risks of confidential information being seen by competitors. Judging will take place online, and judges should be given ample time to review the submissions.

Stage 5 – Winners

Winners will be decided by a points system from the judges’ votes and announced at the event. There will also be a ‘Highly Commended’ second place for each category. The winners of the National Mortgage Awards – Second Charge will be recognised for their outstanding achievements and celebrated for their contributions to the second charge industry.
